the story behind the picture
Wyatt hit the barbecue trail again in February 2009 with a different photographic mission in mind: to capture footage for a series of short promotional videos. Wyatt’s son Stuart McSpadden, a filmmaker, was the man behind the camera this time. Co-producer Nancy McMillen, who designed the book Texas BBQ, came along for support (she also happens to be Wyatt’s wife). Rounding out the family team was Wyatt’s son Trevor McSpadden, lead singer for the Chicago-based band the Hoyle Brothers (http://www.hoylebrothers.com). Trevor enlisted fellow Hoyle Brother Brian Wilkie to write and record a Texas BBQ “theme song,” which plays behind the pictures on each video.
